Researchers test High-Dose heart drug to aid stroke recovery

NCT ID NCT01976936

Summary

This study tested whether giving a very high dose of a common cholesterol drug (lovastatin) for just 3 days after a stroke is safe. It involved 162 people who had just had a stroke. The main goal was to check for serious side effects like liver or muscle damage, while also seeing if the treatment helped with recovery from the stroke.
