Heated chemo during surgery offers new hope for rare ovarian cancer recurrence

NCT ID NCT05123807

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests a two-step treatment for women whose mucinous ovarian cancer has come back. First, surgeons remove as much visible cancer as possible. Then, heated chemotherapy is pumped directly into the abdomen during the same operation. The goal is to see if this approach helps women live longer without the cancer growing again. The study is currently recruiting 30 participants.
