Inhaler propellant showdown: does the new one keep lungs cleaner?
NCT ID NCT05755932
First seen Feb 27, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at how two different types of inhaler propellants affect the lungs' natural ability to clear mucus and particles. It involved 35 healthy, non-smoking adults who inhaled a harmless radioactive tracer and had their lung clearance measured with a special camera. The goal was simply to compare the two propellants, not to treat any disease.
