Hernia mesh study aims to prevent future surgery complications
NCT ID NCT07384962
Summary
This study aims to determine which of two common mesh placement methods during hernia surgery causes fewer problems when patients need future abdominal operations. Researchers will follow 790 patients who previously had hernia repair to see if mesh placed inside versus outside the abdominal cavity affects injury risk during later surgeries. The study will also track pain levels and recovery outcomes for patients needing repeat hernia surgery.
