Hernia mesh study aims to prevent future surgery complications
NCT ID NCT07384962
Summary
This study aims to understand which of two common mesh placement methods during hernia repair causes fewer problems when patients need future abdominal surgeries. Researchers will follow 790 patients who had previous hernia repairs to see if mesh placed inside versus outside the abdominal cavity affects injury risk during later operations. The study will also track pain levels and recovery in patients having repeat hernia surgery.
