PET scan could personalize breast cancer treatment after drug failure

NCT ID NCT06595563

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study is for people with advanced HER2-positive breast cancer whose disease has worsened after treatment with trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd). Researchers will use a special PET scan (HER2-PET/CT) to see if the cancer still has HER2 targets. If the scan is positive, participants get a different drug (T-DM1); if negative, they receive standard care. The goal is to see if the scan can help choose the next best treatment and improve outcomes.
