Warm feet, less pain: simple heat trick after surgery

NCT ID NCT07417319

First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tested if putting heat on the feet could help people feel better after gallbladder removal surgery. 82 adults were split into two groups: one got a hot-water bottle on their feet for 15 minutes each hour for the first four hours after surgery, and the other got standard care. Researchers measured pain, bloating, and how quickly the gut started working again. The goal was to see if this simple, nurse-led method could improve comfort without medicine.
