Nurses with no ultrasound training can capture heart images using smart software
NCT ID NCT05874128
First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looked at whether nurses who had never used ultrasound before could take good enough heart pictures using a special software called HeartFocus. The nurses received training and then performed heart ultrasounds on 240 patients. Cardiologists then checked if the images were clear enough to see the heart's size and function. The goal was to see if this software could help non-experts get useful heart images.
