New plug for leaky heart valves under scrutiny in global study
NCT ID NCT07037446
Summary
This study is monitoring a small device designed to seal leaks that can develop around previously implanted artificial heart valves. The goal is to see if the device is safe and effective at closing these leaks to improve heart function and reduce symptoms like fatigue and the need for frequent blood transfusions. Up to 200 adult patients who are at high risk for repeat surgery will have the device implanted and be followed for up to three years.
