New device aims to plug dangerous heart valve leaks

Summary
This study is monitoring a device designed to seal leaks that can develop around previously implanted artificial heart valves. It will track up to 200 patients for up to 3 years to see how well the device works and how safe it is. The goal is to reduce symptoms like heart failure and the need for frequent blood transfusions, especially for patients who are at high risk for another open-heart surgery.
