New heart scan tested to speed up chest pain diagnosis
NCT ID NCT03187639
Summary
This study tested if a new type of CT scan, which measures blood flow in the heart arteries (called FFRct), is a better first test for people with new chest pain. Researchers compared it to the standard UK care pathway to see if it saved time and resources while maintaining patient safety and quality of life. Over 1,400 patients were randomly assigned to receive either the new scan or the usual tests.
