New mini Heart-Lung machine aims to cut surgery complications

Summary
This study is testing if a newer, smaller heart-lung machine causes fewer serious problems after heart surgery compared to the standard machine. It will involve 1,300 patients having planned heart bypass or valve replacement surgery at hospitals around the world. The main goal is to see if the newer machine lowers the risk of complications like heart attack, stroke, kidney injury, or death within 30 days after surgery.
