Summary

This study looks at how certain immune cells (monocytes) change during heart surgery that uses a heart-lung machine. Researchers will measure these cells and related chemicals in the blood before, during, and after surgery. The goal is to understand links between inflammation and blood clots in 100 patients of all ages with congenital heart disease.
