Heart attack stent showdown: which coating heals better?
NCT ID NCT03440801
Summary
This study compared two similar drug-coated heart stents to see which material helps the artery heal better and stay healthier long-term after a severe heart attack. 240 patients who had a sudden, major heart attack (STEMI) received one of the two stents. Researchers used advanced imaging to check the artery's condition three years later, looking at how the stent coating affected healing and the risk of new plaque buildup.
