Heart attack stent showdown: which coating heals better?
NCT ID NCT03440801
Summary
This study compared two types of drug-coated stents used to open blocked arteries during a severe heart attack. Researchers wanted to see which stent material—one that dissolves over time versus one that stays in place—leads to better long-term healing and fewer complications inside the artery three years later. The study involved 240 patients who received emergency stenting for a major heart attack.
