Cancer surgery heart risk: to stop or not stop blood pressure pills?
NCT ID NCT06862115
Summary
This study aims to determine if temporarily stopping certain blood pressure medications before colorectal cancer surgery is as safe as continuing them regarding heart injury risk. Researchers will compare two groups of 156 adult patients having major abdominal cancer surgery: one group stops their medication before surgery, while the other continues it. The main goal is to see if stopping the medication does not lead to more heart muscle damage after the operation.
