Scientists test best way to measure heart health signals

NCT ID NCT07531992

First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at how the length of time we measure heart rate variability (HRV) affects the results. HRV is a simple, noninvasive way to check how well the nervous system controls the heart. Researchers will compare 1-minute, 5-minute, 10-minute, and 20-minute recordings from 40 healthy adults and see how each relates to blood pressure. The goal is to help future studies and clinics choose the best measurement duration.
