Heart pump test may predict surgery danger in seniors

NCT ID NCT07454564

First seen Mar 09, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a simple, non-invasive heart test (cardiac power output) can help predict complications or death after abdominal surgery in people aged 65 and older. Researchers will compare this test to a standard risk score (P-POSSUM) in 120 participants. No extra procedures are needed—just routine care. The goal is to improve surgical risk assessment and patient safety.
