Heart alert: new study aims to prevent organ damage in sickle cell patients

Summary
This study tests whether early heart screening and treatment for iron overload in people with sickle cell disease can prevent heart problems and reduce hospital stays. About 100 adults with sickle cell disease and high iron levels will receive regular heart imaging and follow-up care. The goal is to catch and manage heart iron buildup early to improve long-term health.
