First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tested a teaching method called 'teach-back' for heart failure patients leaving the hospital. In this approach, patients repeat their discharge instructions in their own words to make sure they understand. The goal was to improve patients' knowledge and self-care, and to reduce the number of patients readmitted within 30 days. The study included 57 adults with heart failure.
