New scan could reveal hidden heart inflammation in heart failure patients

Summary

This study is testing a special PET scan that uses a tracer called 68Ga-FAPI to look for inflammation in the hearts of people with a type of heart failure called HFpEF. The goal is to see if this scan can help doctors better understand and diagnose this condition. About 35 adults aged 30 and older with heart failure will participate. The study is observational, meaning no treatment is given—it only involves imaging to gather information.
