Heart failure drug showdown: which treatment keeps patients out of hospital?

NCT ID NCT07376265

Summary

This study looked back at health records of 1,249 Portuguese patients with weakened heart pumping (heart failure with reduced ejection fraction). It compared how well two types of medications worked: sacubitril/valsartan (a newer combination drug) versus older standard medications (ACE inhibitors or ARBs). Researchers tracked which patients had fewer heart-related deaths, hospital visits, and healthcare costs over time.
