Summary
This small pilot study aimed to see if a catheter-based heart procedure (pulmonary vein isolation) works better than standard medications for controlling atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) in people with a specific type of heart failure (HFpEF). The main goal was to see if the procedure could reduce how much time a person spends in this irregular rhythm and improve their ability to exercise. The study was stopped early and enrolled only 13 people, so its findings are very preliminary.
