New vs. old heart drug Face-Off for sick kids
NCT ID NCT07197372
Summary
This study aims to find out if a newer heart medication (sacubitril/valsartan) works better than a standard one (captopril) for children with dilated cardiomyopathy, a condition where the heart muscle is weak and enlarged. About 70 children in Egypt will take one of the two drugs for a year while doctors track their heart function, hospital visits, and side effects. The goal is to provide clearer guidance on the best treatment to help manage this serious heart condition in kids.
