New heart pill for kids tested against old standard

NCT ID NCT07197372

Summary

This study compares two medications for children with dilated cardiomyopathy, a condition where the heart muscle is weak and enlarged. Researchers want to see if a newer drug (sacubitril/valsartan) works better than the older standard drug (captopril) at improving heart pumping strength and keeping kids out of the hospital. The study will follow 70 children in Egypt for one year, tracking their heart function and overall health.
