Could a common heart drug be a Game-Changer for adults born with heart defects?
NCT ID NCT06260059
Summary
This study is testing if a drug called Empagliflozin (Jardiance), already used for other types of heart failure, can help adults who were born with heart defects. Researchers want to see if taking the pill daily for a year improves heart function, reduces hospital visits, and eases symptoms like shortness of breath. The study will enroll 40 adults with congenital heart disease who show early signs of weakening heart function.
