Heart device tested to stop strokes in High-Risk bleeding patients

NCT ID NCT06052358

Summary

This study looked at a heart implant called the WATCHMAN FLX for people with an irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation) who also have a history of serious stomach bleeding. The implant is designed to close off a part of the heart to prevent blood clots and strokes, which could be safer than long-term blood thinners for these patients. Researchers compared the outcomes of people who got the implant to similar patients who did not, focusing on safety and whether it reduced bleeding or stroke events.
