Major heart study tests whether opening blocked arteries helps patients live longer
NCT ID NCT03392415
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a stent procedure to standard heart medications helps people with completely blocked heart arteries live longer and feel better. Researchers are comparing two approaches in 2,000 patients across Nordic and Baltic countries: one group gets medications plus a procedure to open the blockage, while the other gets medications alone. The study will track survival rates and quality of life to see which approach works better for managing this chronic heart condition.
