Simple scan could warn doctors of heart attack complications

NCT ID NCT07263282

Summary

This study aims to see if a specific measurement from a heart ultrasound (called left atrial strain) can help predict which heart attack patients might develop serious complications while still in the hospital. Researchers will observe 135 adults who have had a major heart attack and received a stent to open their blocked artery. They will use the scan to check if lower measurements are linked to worse outcomes like new heart failure or death.
