Simple scan could warn doctors of heart attack complications

NCT ID NCT07263282

Summary

This study aims to see if a special heart ultrasound measurement, called left atrial strain, can help predict which heart attack patients might develop serious complications while still in the hospital. Researchers will observe 135 patients who have just had a major heart attack and received emergency artery-opening treatment. They will use a non-invasive scan to measure heart function and see if it correlates with outcomes like new heart failure or death.
