New heart attack drug aims to shrink dangerous artery plaque

Summary

This study is testing whether an experimental drug called ziltivekimab can reduce the fatty plaque buildup in heart arteries of people who recently had a heart attack. About 332 participants will receive either the drug or a placebo for 15 months, and doctors will use advanced imaging to measure changes in their artery plaque. The goal is to see if this treatment can help control heart disease and potentially prevent future heart problems.
