New drug aims to calm heart arteries after attack

Summary
This study is testing whether a new drug called ziltivekimab can help stabilize the fatty plaques in heart arteries after someone has a heart attack. About 332 participants who recently had a heart attack will be randomly assigned to receive either the new drug or a placebo injection once a month, in addition to their standard heart medications. Doctors will use advanced imaging to look inside the heart arteries over 15 months to see if the drug reduces dangerous plaque buildup and makes plaques less likely to rupture.
