New balloon treatment aims to keep heart arteries open

NCT ID NCT05915468

Summary

This study tested a special balloon coated with medication (sirolimus) that doctors inflate inside clogged heart arteries during a procedure. The goal was to see if this treatment helps keep arteries open longer and reduces the need for repeat procedures within one year. Researchers followed 306 patients who received this treatment as part of their standard care to track their outcomes.
