Can we spot heart amyloidosis before it strikes?

NCT ID NCT05489549

First seen Jun 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026

Summary

This study aims to find early signs of a heart condition called transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis in Black adults who carry a specific genetic change (V122I TTR) but have no heart failure symptoms. Researchers will use advanced heart scans and blood tests to detect amyloid buildup and identify markers of disease progression. The goal is to improve early diagnosis so that treatments can start sooner, potentially preventing severe heart damage.
