Summary

This study tested a 6-month program that taught nutrition and exercise to 50 mothers and their children (ages 7-12) in the Yaqui Valley, Mexico. The goal was to improve lifestyle habits and reduce risk factors for heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Researchers measured weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, and other health markers before and after the program.
