French study maps hidden hepatitis c variants to improve treatment

Summary
This study looks at stored samples from 2500 adults newly diagnosed with hepatitis C in France to map the different virus types (genotypes and subtypes) circulating in the country. Researchers will also examine why some treatments fail by checking for drug resistance. The goal is to better understand the virus and improve future care.
