New score aims to end guesswork in biceps tendon diagnosis

NCT ID NCT06446336

First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated Jun 04, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study is developing a new scoring system called HASS to help doctors accurately diagnose long biceps tendon injuries before surgery. Currently, these injuries are hard to confirm without going into the joint with a camera. The HASS score combines physical exam tests and imaging like MRI or CT scans. Researchers will enroll 200 patients who need surgery for shoulder pain lasting over 6 months.
