Summary

This completed study from Ankara City Hospital Bilkent examined 179 people with Hashimoto's thyroiditis, an autoimmune condition that affects the thyroid. Researchers compared levels of reverse T3, a little-studied thyroid hormone, and inflammation markers in patients who were or were not taking thyroid hormone replacement. The goal was to better understand systemic inflammation in Hashimoto's and how treatment might affect these markers.
