First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 01, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study will give 800 pregnant women biweekly food kits with fruits, vegetables, and other healthy foods to see if it improves their diet and pregnancy outcomes. Participants will be followed from early pregnancy through birth. The goal is to learn whether providing healthy food can make a real difference for moms and babies.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- food kit
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could show that providing healthy food during pregnancy improves diet and birth outcomes, pointing toward a simple nutrition-based intervention.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early-stage feasibility trial, so results may not be conclusive. The intervention is just food, not a drug, so any benefits may be modest and hard to measure.
