NCT ID NCT03442140

First seen Jan 27, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looked at whether playing the harmonica for 12 weeks can strengthen breathing muscles and reduce shortness of breath in people with COPD. Fifteen patients who had completed pulmonary rehab at least six months earlier took part. They attended weekly one-hour group sessions and practiced at home. The goal was to see if this simple, fun activity could improve their breathing and quality of life.
