Splint or gel? new study aims to settle the best way to ease jaw pain

Summary
This study will test whether a hard mouth splint works better than a topical ibuprofen gel plus counseling for reducing pain from temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. About 60 adults with TMJ pain will be assigned to one of the two treatments. Pain levels will be measured after 1 week and 4 weeks to see which approach provides more relief.
