Study tests which nerve block works best for hand surgery pain

NCT ID NCT04960046

Summary

This study compared two different ways to place a pain-numbing catheter for patients having outpatient hand surgery. Researchers tested whether a newer 'costoclavicular' approach provided better pain relief 48 hours after surgery than the standard 'paracoracoid' approach. The goal was to see if one method led to more effective and longer-lasting numbness in the arm and hand after the procedure.
