Simple hand exercise may stop dangerous catheter clots
NCT ID NCT07654101
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests if doing hand-grip exercises with a soft ball can prevent blood clots and blockages in midline catheters. About 840 hospitalized adults with a midline catheter will either do the exercises or receive usual care. The goal is to see if this simple, low-cost activity reduces the need for catheter removal and related complications.
