New drug aims to stop dangerous transplant complication

Summary
This study is testing if adding a new drug called axatilimab to standard care can better prevent graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) in adults with blood cancers. GVHD is a serious complication where donor immune cells attack the patient's body after a stem cell transplant. Researchers will compare outcomes for 72 patients who receive the new drug plus standard care against those who receive standard care plus a placebo.
