Gut health formula tested for Alzheimer's relief

NCT ID NCT06948929

Summary

This small pilot study is testing whether a new probiotic and prebiotic blend (SCV09) can improve behavioral symptoms and daily functioning in people with Alzheimer's disease. Researchers are enrolling 30 older adults in Hong Kong to take the formula daily for 12 weeks, tracking changes in mood, thinking, and gut bacteria. The goal is to see if this gut-focused approach is safe and shows enough promise to justify a larger future trial.
