NCT ID NCT06945237
First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study tested whether medications that affect the gut-brain connection can relieve symptoms in people with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) who still have problems despite taking standard acid-reducing drugs. Researchers enrolled 164 adults with GERD and gave them a gut-brain neuromodulator or a placebo. The goal was to see if these drugs could improve quality of life and reduce symptoms like heartburn and regurgitation, offering a new option for those not helped by usual treatments.
