Summary
This study looks at how the bacteria in your gut change during abdominal surgery and whether those changes can lead to infections at the surgery site. Researchers will collect samples from 120 adults having planned abdominal surgery to track these bacteria. The goal is to better understand why some people get infections after surgery, which could help prevent them in the future.
