Scientists hunt for bacterial clues in gut and blood

NCT ID NCT04159727

Summary

This study aimed to understand how gut bacteria differ in people with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) or Parkinson's Disease compared to healthy people. Researchers collected stool and blood samples from 15 participants to look for specific bacteria and see if any had moved from the gut into the bloodstream. The goal was to identify bacterial patterns that could serve as future biomarkers, not to test a treatment.
