Gut check: could your microbiome predict a stroke?

NCT ID NCT05113043

First seen Apr 26, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether an imbalance in gut bacteria is linked to stroke risk and recovery in young adults (ages 18-45). Researchers will analyze stool and blood samples from 60 stroke patients to find patterns that could help predict strokes earlier. The goal is to better understand the gut-brain connection and identify new ways to prevent or treat stroke in younger people.
