Scientists hunt for gut clues to stop cancer Drug's harsh side effect

NCT ID NCT07264985

Summary

This study aims to understand why a common breast cancer drug, pyrotinib, causes severe diarrhea in many patients. Researchers will observe 60 patients already taking the drug, comparing the gut bacteria of those who get diarrhea to those who don't. The goal is to identify specific bacteria that might protect against this side effect, potentially leading to better management strategies in the future.
